A video has surfaced that shows Tuesday night’s deadly shooting in Kenosha, Wisconsin, and police have confirmed the arrest of a juvenile in at least one of the deaths.
The 17-year-old was charged with one count of intentional homicide and was expected to appear in court for an extradition hearing from Illinois on Friday.
Our sister station obtained the video and spoke to the person who recorded it. He said he did not witness what initially started the commotion, but his video shows a person carrying a long gun and running down the street with several people following him.
In the video, you see the man trip and a few people close in on him. Then, shots ring out. He gets up and shoots more rounds into the ground.
The video shows at least two people getting shot. Our sister station froze the video above so as not to show the moment of the shooting.
The shooting occurred as protests continue in the wake of the death of Jacob Blake, a man shot several times by police during an incident Sunday. Blake is recovering in a Milwaukee hospital and, according to his father, was left paralyzed from the waist down.
The person filmed as the man walked down the street with his hands up as law enforcement drives by. He continues walking past law enforcement officers and out of the view of the camera.
The video does not show the gunman getting arrested.
The names of the victims have not been released.
No other details were immediately available.
