Realtor of the Week: Sanderson: Life experiences equal great service

For Cherylé Sanderson, Realtor with Better Homes and Gardens Real Estate Gary Greene, her mother influenced her decision to become a Realtor.

“I am one of eight children. My father’s work took us all over the United States. We moved a lot. So, my mom set up house in many locations. When I was in the fifth and sixth grades, we moved five times. That meant five different homes and five different schools in two years,” Sanderson said.

Even as a young girl, Sanderson could see her mother’s struggles.

“Today, I see the struggles of parents moving, taking a new job in a strange city, making new friends and hoping their children will be happy and will settled in. That is my goal with every family I help relocate, including trying to find new friends, doctors, hairdressers, vets … whatever they need. That is what my mother did for us. That is what I do for my clients, who are now my friends,” Sanderson said.

Family is very important to Sanderson and she delights in her children and grandchildren, who all live close by.

Prior to real estate, Sanderson worked in the oil and gas industry.

“This industry served me well. Yet, I had always thought I would love to work directly with people and families. I love houses and looking at them, riding through neighborhoods. I love people, and helping them with their most important investment seems to fit me,” Sanderson said.

Sanderson settled in Houston in 1974 at age 24, and she has been in real estate for a couple of decades. Her focus area is The Woodlands and surrounding areas. She also enjoys selling country property, farms, and ranches.

Over the years, she has bought and sold several homes and built two, including her current home, so she had been on both sides of the closing table.

Sanderson is known for being dedicated, determined, with an attention to detail. She cares for clients, and is kind and generous, a loyal friend. Also a philanthropist, she goes the extra mile to meet her clients’ goals, and is ethical and professional. Her motto is “failure is not an option,” which is why she has clients returning and many referrals.

She is an award-winning Realtor and has continued to be in the Top 10 out of 1,300 agents in Houston and Top One Percent nationwide, both with Better Homes and Gardens, etc. She has also continued her education to ensure her clients have the best possible service. She holds designations/certifications as a Certified Residential Specialist, Accredited Buyer’s Representative, Graduate Realtor Institute, and Certified Luxury Home Marketing Specialist.

“Family, love, good health, prosperity, friends. Who could ask for more? And it’s always a great day in Texas,” Sanderson said.
