Realtor of the Week: Cathy Cagle goes above and beyond for clients

When moving forward in buying or selling property, one of the most important factors is to work with an experienced Realtor who will save you time and money. This can also influence the future.

“It is important to pick a seasoned Realtor, to help guide you in making a decision not only on a home today, but a home that will be an asset in the future, especially when it comes to reselling the home,” said Cathy Cagle, a Realtor with Douglas Elliman.

In the 23-plus years Cagle has been a Realtor, she has seen many types of real estate markets. Yet, whatever the market is or was doing, she has continued to meet clients’ needs.

A fourth-generation Houstonian and graduate of Texas Christian University in Fort Worth, Cagle works in all areas in and around Houston. She goes where her clients are interested, as most of her clients are referrals or relocation clients.

Her expertise is from the Energy Corridor to downtown, and everything in between, which includes the Beltway and Inside the Loop.

Prior to real estate, Cagle worked on Capitol Hill running political campaigns for a party for a host of different U.S. congressmen, U.S. senators, and congressional campaigns. After 10 years, she returned to Houston to run a couple of different political races.

“Working political races means long hours, very hard work, no days off, and constantly being your best, on your toes. But I did learn a lot, such as there is always two sides, and it is important to know what side you are on and then stick,” Cagle said.

The work ethic, working long hours, good communication, research, and working with a host of different personalities successfully, are a few of the skills Cagle learned on Capitol Hill that have transferred easily into real estate, and have served her clients well.

Known for being an extrovert, she offers excellent contract skills that keep her clients out of trouble and on track. Cagle is also approachable, honest, professional, very ethical and is straight with her clients.

Cagle and her assistant, which she says is more like her partner, Sarah Callaway Sulma, cross-reference each other to ensure all details are covered and transactions progress as smoothly as possible.

“I love what I do, and I love working with people. I love helping people find that property that they can call home. Plus, putting in the long hours, working hard, and staying in touch with my clients are all important to me, especially when we get to closing and my clients are happy,” Cagle said.
